Vet Care
Like other pets, rabbits need regular vet care and may require emergency visits. Unlike cats and dogs, rabbits must go to an exotic vet. Not all vets are trained in rabbit care! It is important to have a regular vet for annual check-ups, as well as to know where you can take your rabbit after-hours in emergency situations. Wellness visits can cost $50-100. Sick visits with medications, exams, and tests at your regular vet can cost several hundred dollars ($200-600). Emergency visits can cost over a thousand dollars. While pet insurance can help off-set some of these costs, it is extremely important to ensure you have the funds available for these situations. Rabbits require very timely care.
